Ah ha ha. This is absolutely great dude. I try to give creativity options as many times as possible for my differentiated tasks in AP and VA/US history. Rap is always acceptable.

Nice! My little brother is a sophomore at my old CC taking Vietnam history. Some of his class served or dodged the draft. I took AP-level non-AP if that makes sense in high school. Love the stuff to death.

Yeah, definitely makes sense. I taught that during part of my student teaching. I wish I got the chance to teach it now but the head of my department has seniority. I'm having a pretty good time, all told, though I'd like to successfully escape to live in Denmark with my girlfriend when she finishes her PHD or get into an advanced degree of my own. I want to write textbooks.

It's wild your brother gets to be in class with actual veterans. I've had a few students join up and come back to talk to my kids but that must be a different and authentic experience. I'd love to have that for my students. I really should talk to the local VFW/American Legion more.

It's even stranger hearing (my best friend is taking the class with my little brother so they both testify to this) that the Black Veteran glares the white draft-dodger the entire class discussions. Surreal. What do you want to do your advanced degree in?

It's not super lucrative unless I get a book published in Texas, but I'm looking at Public History for Textbook Writing/Museums.
